The 2016 ESA Excellence Awards are inviting final entries from sponsorship professionals across Europe’s €26 billion sponsorship marketplace.
Now in its 10th year, the European Sponsorship Association’s Excellence Awards honour the best in sponsorship and are the only awards that recognise excellence within the sponsorship industry right across Europe. Previous Irish winners include Liberty Insurance (GAA All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship) Electric Ireland (Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championship #ThisIsMajor campaign) and An Post with the Cycle Series.
To keep pace with the evolving way in which sponsorships are being used by marketers, a number of new categories have been introduced to showcase best in class campaigns covering the entire spectrum of sponsorship disciplines. Categories include Best use of sponsorship across multiple markets; Best newcomer to sponsorship; Employee engagement Award and Best use of Innovation in sponsorship.
John Trainor, ESA Board Director for Ireland, commented:
“Over the past decade the ESA Excellence Awards have come to represent the industry ‘gold standard’ and are an important opportunity to showcase best-in-class Irish sponsorship projects across the continent.”
To qualify for entry to the awards, the major part of the project must have taken place between 1 March 2015 and 1 September 2016.
Final entries will close on Friday 30th September 2016. Following adjudication by the judging panel, the short list will be announced at the end of October 2016. Award recipients will be honoured at a sparkling awards ceremony in London on Thursday 9th February 2017.
