Mondelez Ireland extends sponsorship of Paralympics Ireland by three years

Owner of brands including Cadbury Mondelez Ireland has extended its sponsorship of Paralympics Ireland three years until March 2017, taking it beyond the next Paralympic Games in 2016.

The first official partner to come on board as a sponsor of the 2016 Irish Paralympic team, Mondelez Ireland’s investment follows previous Cadbury sponsorship and represents a continuation of the legacy from London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Double Paralympic gold medallist Mark Rohan, swimmer Ellen Keane and footballer Gary Messett attended the signing of the three-year deal in Grand Canal Dock in Dublin.

Over the next three years Paralympics Ireland and Mondelez Ireland will collaborate to run annual talent and awareness events which will be supported by the Cadbury Foundation.

“Continually identifying talent is crucial to both our own business and also to Paralympics Ireland and we plan to build on the talent search initiatives through to Rio and beyond,” said Mondelez Ireland managing director Justin Cook.

Liam Harbison, CEO of Paralympics Ireland added: “With Mondelez’s increased investment we are confident of being able to build our partnership towards supporting our recently published strategic vision of leading a sector wide talent identification model.
